Get real
Why does the average Pom bother with Aus as a permanent move? As a holiday its OK (If you can hack the 24 hour flight) You may be seduced by the $ purchasing £ and the warmer weather and cheaper petrol.
Living there however is a different toaster of pork.
Once the sterling is a distant memory, so is the the cheap lifestyle. The reality of being a stranger in an unfamiliar country sets in. Just because English is spoken, do not expect a similar country.
Aussies deeply suspect and resent poms, you will always be the outsider and expect taunts about your country. To be even slighty accepted you must laugh and say something like "yeah mate youre so funny, UK is a dump Aus is the best"
Australia is like its national foodflag Vegemiite
Bland bland and double bland, fearing the real deal form the original marmite.
