Default looking for geology graduate jobs mining/coal/Oil

Hi there , i am Scottish and have just finished a degree in Geology
From what i have read on the net there seems to be a shortage of people with geology degrees in Australia. i am quite motivated to go abroad to work , ideally on in a job doing weeks on site then getting some time off , so i can explore the country a bit
i have looked into getting the holiday working visa .
I be interested to know if anyone knows of someone freshly graduating and finding jobs .

No jobs for geoligists in the mines. In fact all work in the mines has dried up. It was never there in the first place. Complete myth.

Hey

I'm a graduate geologist looking to find work in the mining industry in Australia. Just wondering if there is still a lot of work out there for graduate geologists?

How did you get along Geoscot? Did you end up going out on a holiday working visa?

One more thing, sorry!! I have heard that there is a drilling season from March/April - September and that's is a lot easier to find work between these times. Does anyone know if this true? Thanks
