Has anyone done any research into the relative costs of heating between gas and electricity with the NSW suppliers? I have perused the web but can't come to any conclusion one way or the other. Obviously the capital costs come into it in the end, but my gut feeling is that gas should be cheaper (less expensive) although my architect says otherwise.

Partially answered my own question here - electricity is about three times the cost per KWh as gas, based on my last bills.

Now the question becomes: what are the relative efficiencies of each?! (For heating the house).
