We have gas warm air heating (ie, powered by gas boiler, we don't get warm gas pumped into the house ). It costs about as much as it did in the UK so not too shocking (apart from the winter quarter, but then, the UK winter quarter was always a case of 'pour a stiff drink, then open the bill).

However, although effective, the air ducting system gives us rotten sinusitis, so we're replacing it with hydronic (ie radiators, also gas-powered) in a few weeks - not sure how running costs will compare. Hydronic is apparently considered 'cool' here so that's good!

Cheers
Anya.
