Gas Boilers

Are there any plumbers out there that could give us some advice. We are looking at building a house and have been looking at different types of boilers. We quite like the thought of solar heating with a gas booster but we are not on mains gas so it would be LPG.

Is there any good systems in that category you could recommend?

Also we have seen the hydropower Bosch model which doesn't require any electric to ignite the burner therefore as we have frequent power cuts we would still get hot water.

Or do you think here in Oz the electric systems are cheaper to run in the long term....doesn't help us though with frequent loss of power :(

Any advice you could give us would be fantastic

Thanks Sasha

I used to service all the old boilers on Newcastle's quayside.

FWIW we did look at the Bosch but the Reece plumbing man said they'd had several problems with the turbine (which provides the ignition current) becoming detached.

I phoned Bosch about that and they denied ever having heard of a problem!

(I did say FWIW!).
