Default Garden furniture question

Hello all,

We are moving out to Oz in September (Sunshine coast hopefully). We are in the process of packing up our containers and wanted to ask what people would recommend in terms of garden furniture. We don't have any currently but were thinking of buying some new stuff and shipping it straight over. Questions are:

- Is it cheaper to buy garden furniture in UK or here (some stuff is half price at the moment in UK hence my query)?
- Are we best to buy wooden or not with the weather, etc in Oz?
- While on the subject are gas barbies cheap in Oz too?

Any feedback gratefully received.

Many thanks

Emma

I personally wouldn't buy new just to bring it over. You'll be paying the shipping. There are loads of places that sell good outdoor stuff and most of it is much larger than the UK due to entertaining outdoors more.
We have a 10 seater table in aluminum which cost $800 and a 6 burner BBQ which cost $600. We brought over a wooden outdoor table with 6 chairs which was used as a dining table when we first arrived and now the table is used for food service and the chairs are spares.
