In the news today :
SINGAPORE'S decision to execute an Australian drug trafficker is part of a death penalty "furphy", a leading criminologist said today. What the hell is a furphy? I was in an office the other day and the guy had an Oxford English Dictionary : AUSTRALIAN English version ! can you believe. I had to check to see if 'snags' was in there and sure enough it was decsribed as " As. Sl. Sausage." (Australian : Slang : Sausage ). ;-) |
