Furniture storage question!!

Furniture storage question!!
Hi,
It's a way off yet, but just wondered what we do with storing our furniture etc...
Has anybody had any experiences of storage companies?
Obviously there will be a period of time when selling the house and then actually emmigrating, so would it be best to store over here or in Oz?
We're going to rent when we eventually get over there, so can we keep our bits in storage and then inform the storage company of when we want it delivered?

Most shipping companies will provide storage in the UK prior to the appropriate time for shipping (your container can't arrive in Australia before you do!).
Our shippers offer the first 4 weeks of storage in the UK free of charge, and I believe this is common with other companies as well. Our storage charge per week thereafter is £47 for a 40ft container.

To give you an indication of price we pay around $200 every 3 months to store a majority of our furniture (think moving from large 5 bed into small 3 bed) for medium term until our house is built or we move directly into another larger home.
