Default Front Loading Application

We have lodged our application with DIMIA and this was confirmed 3 February 2006. DIMIA expect to assess our application in 4 to 5 months. At this point we expect they will ask for PC's and meds. We would like to have them ready to submit when they are requested. The question is, can your PC's or meds be too old to submit ? Can you give us an indication of an ideal time to go for the PC's and meds. I don't want to have the meds done now, and by the time they are submitted, we get a "these are too out of date" note from DIMIA. Any ideas ????

Hi

Meds and PCC are valid for 12 months. You have to validate your Visas within the 12 months of doing them (earliest date). If you want to front load then the best time to get them done is probably around the 4 - 5 month mark. It really depends on when you will be able to go.

If you can go more or less when the visa is granted then it doesn't really matter if they are done a little before this time.

Although you need to consider that some medicals only have a validity of 6 months depending on how your health is.

Read this info, which is from the top of the Australia forum:

Thanks for this. We still have our house to sell (which we don't want to complete on until we have our visa) so we will leave it a while until we get the PC's & Meds done. Its all such a nightmare, timing etc. We need to put the house on the market because we don't know how long it will take to sell, but if it sold tomorrow that would be too soon for us !

I agree the timing is really hard. I checked all the house selling websites, mainly www.rightmove.co.uk and monitered how long houses in the area were taking to sell, what prices etc. I came up with an average of roughly 2 - 3 weeks. So we waited to put it up for sale until we had the visa. It's now been up since 24th Jan and only had three viewings!!.

We have until November to get there, so hopefully someone will come along pretty soon, fingers crossed.
