Friendly face in Melbourne
We have just made the move to Melbourne and are staying in the city for the first month and will be looking for a rental around Coburg.
I start work on Tuesday but my partner is a teacher so will be at a loose end during January. She has found the leaving bit quite hard so if anyone is around during January and fancies a coffee with her to show there is a friendly face around Melbourne, please PM us.

someone posted a similar message for his wife a couple of weeks back and we were trying to arrange a girlie get together in Melbourne. Think it was sort of for beginning of Jan but nothing firm has been fixed...but watch this space!

Have you had a look at the Newcomers Network?

Also, maybe try to get a flavour of Melbourne in the summer by heading for some tennis at Melbourne Park - www.ausopen.org - the ground pass tickets in week one are particularly good value.
Best wishes for 2006.

What kind of accomodation are you after, I may be able to help, as to what is a better part of Coburg than others etc.
Been here in Coburg 18 years now.
If you can get within easy walking distance of any of the 3 tram lines, you should be right.
Mite catch you for a beer one weekend.

There is an Ex-Pat meet Berwick way this Saturday if you are at a loose end. Details are on the Brit-Vics website and I think that there are a few people going along.
