fridges, freezers and white goods
Can anyone tell me is it worth shipping washing machines, fridges, freezers ect or just buy when you get there.

Basically its up to you,if you think your stuff is too good to leave behind,ship it.
If you can afford to buy new or second hand here-do that,probably less hassle in the long run i think
if you do decide to buy here make sure of one thing -Buy a front load washing machine !!!

We're bringing all our white goods as didn't want to part with them. Word of warning though, if you bring your fridge/freezer you have to prove it's cfc free or it won't get into the country and then you'll be charged with the disposal of it. 
We just copied the specification section in the manual that came with it and stuck it on the front of the package once it had been packed up!!!

Only modern fridges / freezers which are CFC/HFC free will be allowed in. (I got an email from Hotpoint listing the coolants and other chemicals which I will give to the shippers).
Also bear in mind that a UK fridge / freezer may not be up to the job. Our fridge regularly freezes things on a high setting so it should be okay

It copes fine here in Vic
