Freinds considering Austrailia - will they get in?
Hi everyone
havn't posted for a while hope your'e all doing great!!!
I've got some freinds (Couple with a 1 year old) who want to know what there chances of getting into Australia are.
Basically we don't think they can get in via the skilled independent route at the moment. Is there a route for people who were born in Australia and lived there for a couple of years?
She was born in Australia on 10/03/1972 and she lived there for about 2 years. Her parent also lived there for the two years before she was born.
If anyone knows anything about this please let us know.
Thanks

she hasn't got an australian passport though. What's the route she should take for getting one?
and will her hubby and daughter then be able to get in easily?

Quoted from:

Citizenship by birth
Most people born in Australia before 26 January 1949 became Australian citizens on that day. Between that date and 19 August 1986, people born in Australia automatically became Australian citizens unless one of their parents was a foreign diplomatic or consular official.
Since 20 August 1986, citizenship is acquired if, at the time of the person's birth in Australia, at least one parent is either an Australian citizen or a permanent resident of Australia.

This was very similar to our situation .I was born in Australia 1977 and lived there for 12 yrs .Moved to the UK with my parents and have been here 15 yrs.
I had let my Aussie passport lapse and had never applied for an adult one .
Firstly we had to go to Australia house with my old passport and Aus birth certificate .They wanted to see me in person but didnt have an interview.I was given a new adult Aus passport ,no problem.
Second was getting our two daughters Aus citizenship and then their passports .Another trip to Australia house.
And then once we had all that we applied for a spouse visa that went through in 10 days !!!
Hope that helps your friends ,cant see there being a problem ??
