Finally the saga is over. After being here 7 months I applied for a tax file number only to be told by DIMIA I was "OFFSHORE" and they have no notice of my movements! ( as a nurse this caused me to think other things but hey, got their drift!) Popped into their office yesterday, joined the masses and eventually after much giggling from the guy at the desk he phoned Canberra. 15 minutes later I was beamed in!!!! Lovely weather you are having here!! Apparently the error was caused by not being scanned in!!!
