Free Accommodation!!!
Knew I'd get your attention 
Just found this site, and will stick around as I'll be heading your way next year and will no doubt be after some free advice.
Anyway, if there are any UK expats out there that will be travelling around the Riverina area (southern NSW) or northern Victoria and are after a free bed, give me a yell. I live in Albury/Wodonga, which are twin cities of about 90K combined on the border of NSW and Victoria. Beautiful area, and one which is often ignored by you Brits and is no doubt your loss. An hour from most alpine resorts and in the middle of Sydney and Melbourne, it's pretty accessable. Anyway, just thought I'd offer. We have a spare bed and two spare lounges, and won't ask any money.
Think about it, it's a cheap way to see a great part of Australia... and believe me, your accent will get you alot further out here than it will in the city
