Frankston High School??????

I have been looking at Frankston High school and it seems quite nice. Does anybody's children go to this school, if so do they like it. Also what are the feeder schools for this as well,(i have 4 children. 1 will be going into yr 6 and one into yr 1) i don't really know what primary schools they would have to go into, any suggestions?(i also have a child that would be going onto yr 8.
Is frankston south a good area to bring children up in, and is it good for families.
Thanks so much to anybody who replies.

Hi, my sons didn't go to Frankston High school but we did look at it 5 years ago. We were actually very impressed but if you don't live in the catchment area, then forget it you won't get in and we didn't want to live in Frankston. It's certainly the best state high school in the area in my opinion and because of that any house in the catchment is more expensive than the surrounding areas in Frankston. Frankston has had a lot of bad press, but although I don't live there I think a lot of it is very unfounded, although there certainly are rough areas. Frankston South though is the best area, but can be a lot more expensive, some of the area is more Mt Eliza than Frankston. Not sure about the feeder schools, but I really would make sure you are inside the catchment when renting or buying. The schools will be able to provide you with details, it's not as simple as being the closest school, sometimes even one side of a road can be in the catchment and the other side not.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Have a look at the map of the zone http://www.fhs.vic.edu.au/enrolment/...dures/zone-map

I think there is a member on britvics who teaches at Frankston High who may be able to help you.

I do know though when getting house from the agent makes sure yourself the home is in the zone, do not rely on other peoples information. I have seen a few disappointed people who have done that.

I heard Frankston is improving now because as it is becoming more expensive dodgy people can't afford to live in it. They are moving further eastwards and southwards.

Don't want to be negative as Frankston South is a good school and if we were in the catchment area we would probably send our kids there but please look into the financial side of it. Although it is a state school there are lots of fees (as with most schools) but I know from others that the kids have their own laptops and things like that. I appreciate that all schools have fees and you have to buy school books and stationary etc but I remember my aquaintance reading out a list of things for Frankston High and thinking that I would need a second mortgage lol. I am no expert but it may be something to consider.
