Default Forwarding post through Royal Mail...

Kind of a cheeky question I suppose but if I'm paying a flat fee to Royal Mail to forward our mail for say 12 months...does this mean anything sent to me is forwarded at no extra cost? So I could theoretically get a parcel delivered to my old address in the UK and it's sent on to Sydney without further charge?

Just wondered if anyone had an experience...

ta!

Nope. Sorry. Only letters. But you might get away with magazines. Check the T&Cs on the Royal Mail website.

Also bear in mind that once set your redirection destination address cannot be changed for the duration of the current arrangement. I got stung on that one.

Oh really? Well that's a pain as it means my poor brother will have to receive my mail for 6-12 months then!! Although I'm planning on having very little sent on, have been cancelling stuff like a mad woman for the last six months...

My sister-in-law in Sydney just redirects them on to us here with a "moved" message. The letters have all reached us so far

...Which reminds me, I must sort out some pre-printed stickers to make the task easier for her

Good call. As I say, I'm hoping to have very little re-directed in the first place but stickers are a good idea. My brother is such a space cadet it would certainly make it easier for him
