Default Things to do and see around Caloundra

I`ve just booked a long (3 nights) weekend staying in central Caloundra and wondered what else we can do apart from the Ginger factory and Montville/Eumundi. Would like to do some nice walks. Any ideas?
Me, hubby, 15 and 12 year olds.

Australia Zoo - 20 mins away from Caloundra.

Check out Moffat Beach/Currimundi Lake.

*Don't* go to the Bellingham Maze, which although reasonable fun isn't worth the $40 we paid last w/e!!

The Glasshouse Mountains are nice, with a mini bushwalk (off Steve Irwin Way).

I reckon the walk along the Caloundra beach front from Happy Valley to Kings Beach is a good one.

Big Pineapple?

Point Cartwright Drive (first left after Kawan Shopping World) has a really nice, long, beach and there's a nice park to walk through. Rock pools too.

If you're going up as far as Eumundi then poke your nose around Noosa. Nice beach and national park.

Sunshine Plaza, Maroochydoore (indoor walking!).

I wouldn't stress too much over the ginger factory if I were you, given the ages your kids

We took the MIL there a few weeks ago and I thought it was pants quite frankly.

The setting is nice and there are some quaint shops, but as a spectacle I was

YMMD though

Cheers
