Football, sorry

Re: Football, sorry
I think Dave Whelan is like a wounded animal, and should be put down.
One of the reasons for Wigan being down the bottom has been his lack of money to support a good young Manager that he has in Paul Jewell.
There is no way that the decision (right or wrong) will be overturned, and all this crap about it setting a presedence for other clubs is just a smoke screen for his rantings

Good let him do it and get fined £5.5 million and let his non-entity of a club fold.

To say that lack of money is a reason we are at tthe bottom shows an ignorance that is worrying for you. 5.5 million for heskey, 3 million for julias, 3 million for kilbane, and on and on.....
You may question the players bought but not the support in getting them, and we had a 8 million bid for andy johnson accepted.
As for your player being legal, what non sense you got found guilty! 5.5 million pound fine says that! The guilt is established, its the punishment that most agree is wrong. And as many times already Chester got thrown out of the FA cup for playing an illegible player, a precedent was set.
The fa (bbc) have said they reason the panel gave the fine and not points was so not to compromise the title chase as united could have been playing a relegated team with nothing to play for on the last, and may be title deciding game.
That is true, the fa report that themselves.
If we go down so be it, but if we had fielded illegal players i would also expect a real punishment.

No we got found guilty of his contract being legal he was always a elligable as the Premier league sanctioned him.
Your chairman, like your club is a joke. You were 12 points in front of us and still didn't have the confidence to believe that would be enough so whinged about us getting points deducted.
It goes without saying that all this has had no relevence on the season at all as what happens on the pitch does.
No need to worry eh, we're already relegated and you're going to finish 12th

What about a few years ago when Boston did a similar thing, they got the points deducted the following season. After they had been promoted out of the conference league at the expense of Dagenham and Redbridge.
So what sort of precedent did that set. If West Ham did go down they would have had to have the points knocked off next season, not this one. I think the size of the fine was outrageous

Sorry to hi-jack the thread but are they any premier footie fans local to Albany Creek who fancy meeting up? Hubby is sick of talking about Aussie Footie and Cricket with his workmates. We've been here for 2 1/2 years and yet to meet anyone interested in the real Football!

Hi, I will get my husband to get in touch with you, he is a Cr Sprayer and I am sure the same rules apply, his cousin is going through the process at the moment and I know that he was saying that he has to come out here now for some work experience as they have changed the rules since we applied, also I think the under 45 rule still applies Frances

There is a whole heap of UK blokes that meet up at a pub before Q'land roar games. Q'land had the 2nd best attendance in the A league last season despite finishing 7th, with a respectable 17,000 average gate. They could well be over 25,000 this season, if they perform.
I will trawl the threads and work out the name of the pub.

Not sure of the No's as of yet, but if anything like Melbourne, its close to the 100's that meet prematch.
Brisbane Brits meet here before Qland roar Games
