Food n Beer
as most of you new guys would of found out by now the food n beer over here is shit! but thats another story! this update is just a new discovery we have made , Milk that you buy here is not great dont taste like the good stuff from back home (browns, masters, supermarket own brands etc) we have found out that Devondale UHT type milk (comes in 2ltr cartons) its much like back home milk + you dont have to keep it in the fridge it keeps in cupboard till you need it then it goes in fridge
it might be a wee bit more expensive but worth it our kids wont drink the regular milk anymore , check it out (find it besides soy milk etc)
(we live in Perth ive heard east coast milk is better ? )

That milk isn't that more expensive is it ? $1.99 for a 2 litre carton as opposed to $1.79 for a 2 litre bottle of fresh milk.
If most people feel the food here is, as you say "shit!", they must be shopping in the wrong places.
Many things are of course, "different", but that is to be expected.

If you rely on the processed stuff then you deserve everything you get.
Decent beer can also be found if you bypass the more common lagery stuff, but I drink more wine these days and this I find also more cost-effective than the UK.
Each to their own though ...

No idea what your milk 'back' home tasted like or your food come to that. Woolies homebrand red lid milk is by far the best I've tasted here, can't bear UHT milk anywhere. Not found any 'shit' food at all other than the obvious - beetroot, mango, parsnips etc.
You need to change your shops I think.

To the OP - Such a blanket statement - all the food and beer here is shit - Really? All of it? There isn't anything that you like? Do you not think that you may be exaggerating, just a little!
