Default Flying to the UK for two weeks in JULY!

For a blinkin' wedding- I tried to get them to marry off-season but they weren't having any of it

Any ideas on cheapest- do you think fares will plummet between now and then or should I grab now? I can get 4 seats (2A and 2C) for about $7.5K with Malaysian Air, which is my pref along with Singapore et al.

Are they going to be flogging fares when the recession bites do you think?

Hi

Have wondered the same myself, my mum is getting married (3rd time lucky) in July and I really feel I should be there for it, with the kids, can't afford for hubby to come too!
Cheapest I've seen is Cathay Pacific, but I am hanging on for a bit in the hope that there may be some sale prices, unfortunately we couldn't take advantage of the recent Qantas sale as it was not for the dates we need.

Let's hope someone comes along with insider info!

$7.5k is a great fare for 4 seats in July - I wouldn't hold off on booking.

I can't see you getting anything much lower than that - the airlines have already started pulling capacity so although there is less demand, there are also going to be less seats - prices aren't going to plummet.

Agreed, I think that's a great price (iykwim). I had three return flights same time last year and paid $6,600 and that was with Royal Brunei who are one of the cheapest.

Aren't 2A and 2C in first class?

Just bought 2 adult, 2 child tickets return to UK for end of July-August for two weeks for $7232 on Malaysia Air's website. Couldn't find them anywhere near as cheap on expedia et al.

Great fares! Just had a look at the website and sure enough the fares are available all the way fom now to end of Sept. They price them as one ways too so Sydney to London is only $860....that's really a bargain for a one-way.

We 2 are looking for flights back to UK for wedding in july.....

Has anyone had experience of booking a one way flight from oz and then buying a return ticket from the uk with the return say 6 months later? The prices with the trip beginning in the uk are great at the moment and i think it may work out cheaper going down this route. Has anyone done this before......has it worked out cheaper and has it worked out as planned.......is there anything else to consider?

Cheers

Mike

I've just brought a ticket for June with Malaysian airline, cost me $2200 rtn.

I did see it cheaper with Cathay Pacific buy every time I got to enter my credit card details it came up with, 'your time has expired' and by the time I managed to do it the flights had gone, grrrr!

Looks like we got a good deal with Qantas a few weeks back then, Perth to LHR end May return mid June, 2A, 1C & 1I for $4.4k all in inc taxes.
Maybe Qantas will run another promotion soon ?

They might but I wasn't confident they'd do the kids fly free or similar in peak UK summer time, which is when we need to fly.

Good idea

There does seem to be a lot of us wanting to fly back to the UK in July/August, no wonder they don't drop the prices much!
