Flooring in Melbourne
Anyone know of a good place to get a deal on some wooden flooring and decent carpet in Melbourne. I was told there was a carpet auction place in Tullamarine but I cant find it online.
The best we have come up with is Fowles anyone have any dealings with them?
Any pointers would be good thanks in advance.

Well since the replies are slow here is the 411 so far.
We decided after looking at flooring today we would like to go with Bamboo flooring. this so far is being quoted at $87 a sq m installed.

Ok well the quest went on.
The bamboo idea was dropped, basically the budget for the carpet blew right out
So the floor is being switched to Laminate.
Anyone see any huge disadvantages or pionters with Laminate?
Buzzy your advice is helping us a lot to avoid a few pit falls

Hi mate if you do decide to go with laminate just buy the materials - I have had some of my floor relaid and the guy who did it was fantastic - 61 year old Glaswegian! Get him to lay it - will send his details.
