Default flights to perth

Hello,

Can anyone recommend the best and cheapest flight companies to go over with to Perth in October (we would be flying from Birmingham or London)? We are on a budget and would have liked a day stopover in Dubai but would this make a flight more expensive than going direct with just a couple hours stopover?

Thank you,

Jen

Hi there - we're going on a visa validation trip in november for 3 weeks. Having checked our all possible flight prices we finally booked with Emirates who came out cheapest everytime we had looked.... for two adults - and two kids (with their own seats) it came to GBP2,400 for a return..... Didnt think that was too bad for flights to Perth.

We're off for our validation trip in November flying to Perth from Heathrow and then flying back to UK from Brisbane (this was slightly more than Perth inwards and outwards).

Found that Cathay Pacific seemed cheapest of the best airlines, did find Korean airlines etc cheaper but didn't fancy them.... tried direct on www.cathaypacific.com but flying with CP cheaper through www.statravel.co.uk cheapest with www.asda.com next best.

Flights were Tuesdays, Thursday and another day (can't remember) @ £1380 for two adults.

I should have said - we're flying from Gatwick via Dubai. We have about 3 hours at Dubai before the connecting flight. Just checked - adult return fare was GBP691 and the kids were GBP521 including all taxes etc....

Hi Jen

We fly the Birmingham - Dubai - Perth route (4 times).
There are no difference in the price if you stop over.. just the hotel cost etc.
If your have the double baggage allowance granted to people migrating, if you stop over, I'm fairly certain you cannot have the extra baggage so just think about that.

Talking of baggage, don't be over weight at check-in, Emirates will charge you for it.... we were over weight (our fault) and they wanted £600 at the check-in! Be warned.
Great flights though, excellent entertainment, food and drink are plenty.

If you are on a serious budget... I worked out the other day that flying budget airlines, I could get from Gatwick - Hong Kong - Singapore - Perth for £260 one way! You'll need a stop over in Singapore to get the Perth flight... but what a bargain.

We were also over by a fair bit, the lovely lady allowed us 50kg over and the rest we had to send as excess luggage mind you think that we had 40kg each, she allowed us an extra large person luggage wise!!!! we were the 3rd to book in on the flight, she said i'm sure there will be people after you that are under so that will compensate! this was from Gatwick too!!!
