Re: Flights to Oz - Stopover Options

Hi there

We went over at the end of 2003 with two kids (then aged 11 and 7). Flew from Heathrow to Singapore - went at night time & managed to get some sleep! Absolutely loved Singapore, very clean, friendly people and lots of choice in eateries (mind you pizza places were very popular with children). I would recommend a visit to Sentosa island, it's truly beautiful there and also a visit to Underwater World is recommended.
Then the shorter flight to Brisbane - personally, next time we'd do that one in the daytime. Although it depends on the ages of the kids, our boys just wanted to play on the playstation/watch movies all night and didn't settle to sleep too well. Ended up with both being sick on landing :scared: and both took ages to get over falling asleep in the middle of the day! But at the end of it all it was well worth it, and hopefully next time we'll get to stay there for good - yippee!! Hope this helps, there's a huge amount of choice out there, just choose what suits you and your family best & good luck with it all.
Cheers Shaz

Does anyone know of any way to get to Australia via Argentina? Or another South American country?

There's always a way - not necessarily a short one however.
You can check the Sydney or Melbourne Airport websites to see if they have any direct flights to South America (probably only Chile, Argentina or Brazil) or alternatively contact a travel agent like Trailfinders to see what they can come up with.
