Default Flights to London from Melbourne

I am planning a trip to London from Melbourne next March.

* Does all flights from Melbourne to London land at Heathrow?

* I am using www.webjet.com.au to look for flights. Is there any other website similar to this?

* What would be a good website to book hotels in London? I have used wotif.com but used this to book hotels in Australia only. I am looking for 3 star category hotels.

Thanks.

If you fly with Emirates you will also have options to fly into Gatwick.

If you use airport code LON in your searches that will cover all London airports.

You've just missed out on the British Airways run out Ashes sale fare - London in March was about $1400 return thanks to England's healthy 1st innings!

I am going to have to ask. What has England's first innings got to do with flight prices to London in March?

Qatar fly to / from Gatwick I think.

Not quite as good as in 2005 when England won the Ashes, and Virgin Atlantic were offering their "Freddie Fare" for London-Sydney return. That was also somehow based on the score by England, and cost me £330 for the return ticket!

Having flown with Emirates, British Airways & Singapore Airlines, i would say go with Singapore. The service they provide is far better. I would myself pay extra to fly with them.

I would recomend singapore airlines.
I am doing the flight in a few weeks and after a lot of research they still seem the best. I came out with them originally and had no problems.

The singapore to london part of the trip is in the a380 airbus which I hear is very nice.

You can pick your seats and meals online

Qantas flies the A380 airbus Melbourne to London on QF9 a couple of times a week. Dont discount Qantas they have some good flights and I have not yet had a bad international flight with them. Lastminute.com is always good for a look. I usually try the Travelodge site for cheap hotels though - they have them as low as L9 a night if you can book far enough ahead otherwise L19 or 29 are quite common.

So it will probably be $644 discount!

Feb/Mar should be about $1320 and May $1475 inc taxes.

Any time these fares have gone on sale I've had a look near the start of the offer and seen plenty of availability.

Given that they have run the sale ex BNE, PER, ADL and MEL already I assume it must be possible to book on Qantas flights as well? SYD might be different with 2 BA metal flights a day.

Will second that. Few weeks back I booked a couple of nights at the Brand New London Waterloo traveldoge, for GBP15 and 22 a night. We have stayed in the then (near new) Euston one and it was fine at the time full hot english breakfast was 6 per adult and the kids ate free. Absolute Bargain, we also stayed at the Southwark one, very clean and I am very fussy about hotels being clean and even the staff couldnt have been more helpful. I have spoken to people who say travelodge is crap but its not been my experience at all.
