I have just spent 2 hrs trying to sort out flights to Brisbane. Did it direct on net as a member of krisfllyer. Wanted to fly out on 31 oct from Manchester. First available flight for 4 seats is wed 8 November. Must be really busy period . Did not expect to have to wait around another week 10 DAYS WITH MY MUM DONT KNOW IF I CAN TAKE IT :scared:

May well be because of the Ashes.

That is why flights are expensive this year.

Ring a few travel companies direct, like ebookers. I had the same problems trying to organize flights on-line, alot of the time the sites said they just could not find any flights on the route i wanted. I then approched the airlines sales, or a travel company, and it was no problem. Booking flights on the web has its own set of issues.

I agree i am sure that some travel companies do block bookings on flights so when u go online to book direct alot of the seats show as gone bot are actually still available thhrough people like ebookers. IN my case just wanted to get some seats and get the hassle over with

I agree there are lots of travel companys out there that will find you a flight but i challenge anyone to find a flight to Brisbane on one of them for less than £2000 for 4 seats. Still believe it is always cheaper to book direct with airline. Hope someone does though will be interesting to know if it can be done. Manchester - Singapore- Brisbane

I booked that flight with Airline network for 3rd November and it was cheaper than SIA.

Flights this year are £200+ more than the same time last year...the ashes start in Brisbane in November and have pushed the price up.
