flights with alternative stopovers
 

when looking for flights - only options that available are malaysia,dubai and singapore - does anybody know of an airline that flys via america or somewhere different?

Did you try travelmood? They are online and quite a good site. Otherwise just give trailfinders a phone,we found them helpful.

Air New Zealand do and you can stop in Fiji and other lovely Pacific islands. (Plus Los Angeles if you like).

American Airlines go to Oz via the USA too as do US Air and Air Canada.

Aeroflot go to Sydney if you like Fair ground rides :) and korean Airlines go if you like eating interesting food.

Austrian Airlines fly via Vienna & Kuala Lumpur. Fantastic deals on business class seats at the moment with 50% off. Just booked ours via ebookers.

Still more expensive than a stop over but you get there in 24 hours and have some room to nearly lay down completely.

we're going ba heathrow to los angeles, we will have 5 nights in las vegas then on to sydney with qantas. going via america gives a great luggage allowance of 2 pieces up to 32kg per person making 64kgs each which will hopefully be enough for all my jewellery and worldly goods!
this was booked with qantas supposedly special migrant fare, still came to £517 each plus £73 tax each. realise malaysia or one of the others much cheaper but we are treating the journey as a holiday and visiting vegas will be so much fun!
the day after we arrive in sydney will be my 45th birthday and so looking forward to the best one ever. my brother and his aussie wife have just bought somewhere in northern beaches area and her family who made us so welcome last year will be celebrating with us.
then its buy a vehicle etc etc and a week later we drive up to the nsw border and begin our land / property search.
sorry gone off the thread a bit but feeling excited as had two offers on our house yesterday, the weather is lovely and i'm probably a still a bit drunk from last night!

hi, it depends on price really, ideally coolangatta area first choice but it may be down as far as kingscliffe, we've got 2 weeks accommodation at terranora lakes from oct 4th and will take it from there. alan is a builder, so it may be land or an older property to renovate we go for and also fine somewhere to rent for six months if we go the land route.

We're doing the same! Planning to leave on 2nd Nov and spend two weeks doing LA, Vegas and San Fran. BA and Quantas to Sydney where we're setting up home.
Have you thought about what to do with all that (64kg per person) luggage as you travel around the States? I've spoken with the airport and they won't let you leave luggage for more than a few hours. So I'm looking at alternatives any thoughs appreciated.

today i have shown round the kumars and the pals and both love it. we have created a sort of auction by selling at "offers over" so look forward to the week ahead to see how much higher it will go. (mr kumar wore a wig like elvis - it was very distracting!)
anyway, we will just take our luggage with us, cases have wheels, we are picking up a car (i think) in la unless we fly to vegas. did'nt want to book in advance in case we missed the connection. it will just sit in our hotel room, we'll use the safe and keep our fingers crossed! will try and have the clothes i want at top of case to avoid too much unpacking.
we are going to stay in the sahara on the strip where are you going? we are just staying sun night till fri morning as hotel prices more than double at weekends by the way and five nights will probably be enough time to get the flavour!
we saw friends last night who'd been in vegas recently and they fuelled our imagination.
getting closer and closer now, everyone saying are you having a leaving party but don't know if i could cope with a big one, maybe a few small ones.

i want to stop over in tokyo for a couple of days on the way to perth. does anyone know which airline does this?

We fly a week on Tuesday to LA then onto Fiji where we spend 4 days, then onto Brisbane via a stop off in Sydney - £419 (includes taxes) with BA & Quantas, and you get the 2 pieces of baggage at 32kg allowance! We booked with Travelbag - both the flights and the accommodation in Fiji. Can't wait now we have waited so long - this week will be hectic though with the packers coming on Thursday and being homeless from Friday!

On our oz visit before last we stopped off in Tokyo I am sure we used BA/Qantas and booked it via Travelbag

We recently validated visas and went with Japan Airlines (JAL) - we were very impressed with them - they were value for money and the airline has a number of hotels close to Narita Airport.
Might be worth a look at. Beware - Japan is very pricy - small bottle of beer in hotel around£6!!
