Flights
Hi Guys,
Ok, I'm probably gonna book my flight this week and am hoping to get the double baggage allowance, now I have my visa  From my searches on here, I see Singapore airlines give double allowance if you haven't validated your visa (which I havent). Are there any other companies that offer this? and from your experience are any good? As I don't fancy going Qantas at the mo for some reason  |

Only airlines that generally do it now are Singapore and Emirates. You'll need a PR visa, unvalidated, and a one-way ticket.

Re: Flights
Or you could fly via the US and get 46kg regardless of the type of visa.

its only if you have a permanent visa. |
Re: Flights
also, emirates don't allow you to do a stopover if you have the double baggage allowance

Let us know if you find an airline who will accept it. Otherwise it might be via the USA for all of us. |
Re: Flights
Ok, so I've been looking at flights for the 1st week of November and for one way they are so expensive!
From Teeside to Adelaide, they are over £3k ! Does anyone have any good websites etc? |
Re: Flights
We have just booked one way to Bris for nov 3rd - Expedia and travelbag seemed to be the best prices.£3700 - 2 adults and 2 children. We are stopping for one week in Langkawi 4 * hotel and 3 nights Kuala Lumpur - 5* hotel. This price inc internal flights and hotels, private taxis etc.

Re: Flights
My flights for mid March are coming back at £630 for Singapore, £2,300 for business.
Does it make it any cheaper flying from LHR? And getting a seperate flight from Teeside? |

Re: Flights
its probably because bmi and singapore airlines aren't in the same airline alliance
singapore also fly from manchester to adelaide if thats any easier for you than heathrow (its certainly less stressful to check in etc there on the day!), maybe also from glasgow we've done the trip from yorkshire to adelaide a number of times and usually use manchester airport. last year we got a good deal from klm/malaysian airlines flying from humberside airport to adelaide, change in amsterdam ebookers and lastminute.com often bring up cheaper flight prices than expedia |

Worth a call. www.trailfinders.com and click on contact us for the Newcastle office. Kevin |

We have found the same problem from Edinburgh. Something to bear in mind though is if you do not have one ticket from Teeside to Adelaide you will not be able to check your luggage through, which means you have checkin again in LHR, (BMI Website).

You do if you go via the US.....everybody does. I came via LA and Auckland on Air New Zealand on a 457 visa with 46kg baggage allowance.
Yes, North American airlines have far more generous baggage allowances, even for regular economy class travellers. |
Re: Flights
Everyone looking for a flight should go on a comparison website such as http://www.travelsupermarket.com , so much easier than ringing up or going on several different websites.
