hi does anybody no about standby flights are they cheap or more expensive?
wanting to go out in October not bothered what day or when we come back
some 1 once told me they were cheap but dont no?

Standby flights are not sold by airlines per se. You have to have an original ticket in the first place and then say arrive at the airport a few das early etc and the airline will transfer to a standby ticket.
It is more common place in the US domestic market than international flights.
Realistically its not going to be heaps cheaper and a pain in the royal behind to say the least unless you like living at airports.
Airfares can be reasonable, just make sure you change the dates not to include peak days, be prepared to have a relatively long connection time and shop around.
