Flights

Hi All

I wonder if anyone could help us?

We are planning to move out to Oz at the end of February and wanted to get some advice on the best people to fly with.

We are 2 adults flying one way to Perth, we have our PR Visas and need to also get the best deal on baggage allowance.

Is anyone looking to fly out soon who could give us some advice?

We are also looking for a good international shipping company. Any ideas?
We are only taking 3 cubic metres and have been quoted £1100 which seems quite a lot.

Thanks
Julie :)

Hi Julie

We are moving over in May to Perth i would also like to know how much it is for one way flights.
In Glasgow we got s quote for £430.00 each.
Dont know if thats a good price.
We have been getting different prices for containers.
350 cubic feet £1800.00 to £2300.00
Do you mind if i ask who you got your quote from.
The price for taking the dogs is turning my hair grey. :scared: :scared:

3 cubic metres is 106 cubic feet, Lawlaw you shipped about that didn't you?

I can recommend Singapore Airlines

Lawlaw, how long did Excess take to get back to you after the online estimation?

I'd recommend Singapore. Flew with them in 2004 and will fly with them again around March time. Cost is roughly around £400 with taxes. You can take extra 20kg luggage allowance but have to have visa stamp in passport and they only allow you to do it once. :)

3.5hrs if you drive like someone from WA.
2.5hrs if you drive properly.

Re: Flights

Singapore - no doubt. They're the cheapest and one if (if not the) best. Book direct, dont bother with travel agents, they all add on extra. You should be looking at £349 plus taxes, and you get double baggage allowance (40Kg).

Also, whoever you decide to go with, sign up for frequent flier miles. Its free, and Oh so worth it - we've got 23000 each from our last trip, one more return journey with the same carrier and we get an upgrade to business class. COOL!

I can recommend singapore aswell, I just got back from my validation trip to Perth. Got the extra 20kg on the way out as was first entry on PR. I ended up weighing in at nearly 60kg including my cabin bag, which was way over the 7kg limit ... still there was no worries at all. You will need to show you PR visa in your passport and is worth getting an email from their customer services to confirm the extra allowance just in case there are any problems at check in.

Service was excellent on the planes, flights price was good too .. try booking via dialaflight .. they were a fair bit cheaper than everyone else including singapore direct!

Hi

I filled out the online estimation and they emailed me a quote a couple of days later.

The quote was for 98 cubic feet and was £680 I actually cocked it up, really needed 200 cubic feet but got it down to around 140 cubic feet, ditched the sofas in the end, they were knackered anyway.

The guys come yesterday, they were really good. whipped through it in a couple of hours.

I should get the final invoice with the cubic feet and cost in a couple of days.
