Default Flight prices and airlines for UK trip

For those who have made return journeys to the UK in the last few years, what would you say is a 'good' (by Australian standards) fare for a return trip?

And if anyone has flown with Etihad, please could you let me know what they were like. Likewise, any opinions on Singapore Airways vs Emirates would be appreciated!

Thanks

A really good fare is anything from $1800 - $2000. A average fare is probably closer to $2200 - $2400. (all of these inc. taxes)

Singapore Airlines, very consistent, good service.....you know exactly what you're getting.

Emirates - often excellent, but less consistent than SQ - you may get some dodgy sectors in terms of crew.

Not flown Etihad but from what I read, I'd expect them to pretty much mirror Emirates.

Zuji are showing Malaysian flying $1990 inc all taxes etc with availabiliy in Feb onwards. Personally love Malaysian even over Singapore now. In cattle class 34" seat pitch makes it the biggest seat pitch on the Australian routes by any airline.

There is usually a 5 hour stop in KL on the way out to LHR but thats no biggie since the airports great and I like getting a shower and massage or something between the two long sectors.
