Flight insurance for elderly parent

Flight insurance for elderly parent
Hope someone may be offer some advice as I'm going ga-ga trailing through travel insurance quotes!
My 71 yr old mum is coming from the UK to Oz for 11 weeks. I know there is a reciprocal agreement which should cover her for emergency public hospital treatment (except ambulance and specialist services). Her UK GP is giving her enough medication to last her stay so she shouldn't need any refills whilst here. My mum is worried about the actual flight though, in case she gets stranded somewhere or takes ill en route which seems a wise precaution. I can only get quotes for the full length of her stay (11 weeks) and these have been colossal - the same cost as her flight.
She only wants flight insurance for medical cover for the 4 days she is travelling to and from Oz and does not want luggage or cancellation insurance etc. Is it possible to get this type of insurance at her age or only insurance for the whole duration of her stay?

Hi
We found that Travellers.com where extremely helpful with 'non-structured' insurance.
Is aimed at backpacker type peops - we are using them as travelling one-way, with a month in Thailand, in fact we are having gold cover for set period of days which includes carrying valuables like laptop and for diving etc at £50 each. This covers flights, travel to airports etc.
Check them out online: www.travellers.com.au or ring the London office (lovely helpful person!) 0207 432 7475.
Can really recommend them - take the time to discuss what cover you want etc - we where having problems also as OH is diabetic and wanted to cover existing medical conditions - not a problem.

OH doesnt like me talking about it though! (even though he was born in Sunderland - only raised across the river when his parents split up).
I hope you get what you need insurance wise.
