Five weeks in
We left England and the sunshine behind 5 weeks ago and came to Oz for the rain because thats all thats been following us around!! So unfortunately we have only had a GREAT TIME and not a fantastic time...but Summer is around the corner! and Englands will soon be done .
We landed in Brisbane to see some friends who moved over in Sept '05 and they are loving it, then flew up to Cairns for the nice weather...not....while our British Bulldog was enjoying life in quarantine we then drove back down the East coast to Sydney to collect him. All those who are using quarantine and are nervous, please don't be George came out looking as good as the day we had left him 4 1/2 weeks earlier. (The staff are absolutely brilliant and you can ring up anytime to ask about them and they will be truthful, no bullshit involved, so if being quiet or bit off it they will tell you.)
Now we are working our way back up the coast to find some sunshine and have bought a Nissan X-Trail 4 x 4 which is 8grand cheaper than at home and have also become caravaner's ....which we thought we would never do but the people you meet are from all walks of life and each and everyone very helpful and great to meet.
So yes we have run into some shit weather, but what the hell, it still beats Leeds on a rainy Saturday.
We know work is around the corner but for now ***** it we are unemployed and homeless for at least 6 more months and it's fab. ...we have just booked our Christmas and New Years holiday in Nambucca Heads on the White Albatross site and have got the last site available it gets so booked up in advance, so anyone wanting to camp over Xmas better getting booking now!!
Good luck to anyone following us, it is hard saying goodbye to family and friends, but you are only a mouse click away.....
