Default Fitting gas into a property / Gas heaters

OK it's that time of year. I'm starting to freeze my ass off in the mornings again. I live in a new build property made out of the traditional Queensland sticks and paper mache with as much insulation as a cave and hate the reverse cycle on my ducted.

Anyone know if I can get gas retro fitted easily to run a gas fire and gas oven ?

Or better still does any of you lovely expat gas fitters want to come and do it for me in Wellington Pt.

At a push can I use something like this with a normal BBQ style bottle ?
http://www.everdure.com/gas_heaters_brigadier.php

Any advice gratefully received as frankly when it comes to gas, I'm clueless.

It was all retro fitted

Elgas will supply heaters also

We put an LPG tank outside and ran it to the stove, very easy and straightforward. Why not put in a wood burner for the heating?

I'd quite like a wood burner. I suspect I would like the additional chore of clearing it up less. That and my wife nearly died in a fire as a kid and thus going to bed whilst any sign of fire in the house being still on would be a no no.

Doesn't take much effort really. We had a chimney fire when I was a kid, very exciting. The mother and dad were out for dinner and as they left the pub, they saw the fire engine drive past and decided to follow it to see where it went. They panicked slightly when it pulled up outside our house.
