We have been here almost 10 months and only just started to begin to relax a little. Only to be expected I suppose. There is so much crap to sort out but all part of the process. I too could be very honest and write about some of the downsides, but we had those in the UK to (in our case that is) There have been times when we both have felt like SCREAMING both here and there :eek: One of the worst things to deal with for a lot of the process of emigrating is you have to rely on 'other people' to sort things out for you, before and after getting here - very frustrating.

Once here plans can go a bit pear shaped as your everyday life is so busy!We had plans to do all the local 'day trips' in the winter when it cooled down a bit in Cairns, but just too busy still sorting everything out. Had a brill holiday on the Gold Coast though - so not all bad :) It is too easy to let your day to day/working life rule you - try not to get into that situation - if you plan to go see parts of your local area not long after arriving here - do it, wish we had!

I will end this post by saying - as some of you already know - us BIX'S absolutely love it here in Cairns :) After my work yesterday, we all walked along the Esplanade again looking out at all the Sea Cruise boats coming in, watching the helicopter do its rounds, wind surfers doing their thing, did some window shopping, had our lunch sitting outside, looked around the street market, listned to a live band playing there, soaked up the glorious sunshine, then came home and had a swim in our lovely pool - need I say more ;) This is heaven on earth! Pinch ourselves time - he he!

It truly does make up for some of the 'shite' you have to sort out once here!
