This is excellent. We are putting our house on the market this week, and have been told that we can expect to wait for as long as four months to sell it. A friend we bumped into this morning told us it took 12 months to sell theirs :scared: so well done you for getting an offer. We seriously hope we are that lucky

To be honest Tracey the amount they've offered would be enough for us as a minimum to go to Oz with, but we haven't had our visa yet and it is their first offer. We also have more people coming tonight

well if their really interested then theyll up there offer,as you say your not in to much of a hurry,its encouraging though to have an offer so soon,isnt it.
,our offer was the first couple that came round as well,but it was only £1000 under what we were asking and we asked £3000 more than we really wanted anyway so we accepted but then we have our visas and wanted to go in june anyway,so that makes a difference
I ll keep my fingures crossed for you for the people tonight,one thing thats good is that it s the right time of year now to sell,what you want is a bidding war

Are they in a good position (the offers), sit firm and wait for the price you want !Theres nothing like a house with an offer on it to make it even more attracive to other buyers However in a panic I would grab the first offer and feel the relief wash over me !

This is great to hear - and thanks for giving me a little bit of hope about the whole horrible house-selling thing. We are hoping to head for Melbourne for early January - visiting in August and hoping to kickstart everything on our return.... doesn't give much room for things to go wrong, so it's good to hear that sometimes it doesn't have to.....
