First time home owners' grant
 
Does anyone know if it is possible to get the first time home owners' grant if the house is priced over $400k?

As far as I'm aware it does what it says on the label and is available to 1st time buyers!!!! But if you can afford $400,000 why so worried bout $7000?

A usual misunderstanding. How is it that some people can get decent property for a lot less then? People wont why they are skint when they want to have this 'look at me' house on a 200sq metre block is stupid and paying over the odds on repayments. Its silly and false.

Every person has a different perspective of what is important in a home. If it makes someone happy then up to them what they do.

Consider it a partial tax rebate on the stamp duty levied for the privilige of spending money on buying a roof over your head.
