Here in QLD the first home owners grant of $14 is available to established homes and $21 to new builds until June 2009 then it's back to the old $7000. And stamp duty exempt for first home buyers under $500000

Cheers

Once this reverts to $7000, will there still be additional grants for new builds ($14000 ??? ) or will this be scrapped?

Is the stamp duty exemption for houses under $500000 also a temporary measure?

Cheers

After 30 June 2009 the FHOG will revert to $7000. No more $14 or 21k grants.

If the economy is still looking average, then it could well be extended - no guarantees this will happen, but it would not surprise me.

worht remembering FHOG entitlements are different in each state.

eg in Victoria - they are gonna give me $17,00 FHOG, then take it away in stamp duty - go figure!
