This is my first post on the site, although have been getting good info from all the other postings.
My wife and I are off to Oz on the 3rd of Feb with no firm plans!!
I have 5 yr visa and she is a KIWI passport holder. We are off to Perth first as we have friends there.
As I haven't been to Oz before so we plan to check out a few cities while fitting job interviews and looking around before we decide where to settle.
Then (hopefully) we'll ship our furniture and fly out monty the dog.
We plan to use pickfords (any comments?) but can't ship until we know where we'll be. They tell us we will pay for a whole container, this should give us plenty of room so if we have extra items it shouldn't cost any more. not sure I can trust them.
Any suggestions or tips will be very welcome. Also does anyone know if Nintendo GameCube work over there?

Hello Tetley, welcome.
If you do a search on shipping companies on this site you'll find quite a few comments about pickfords.
Good luck, we're off in feb too,
Michaela

Not much help really, but make sure you have plenty of shorts.
Perth is a beautiful place, (this time last year my plane had just landed), but it is very, very hot.
Enjoy

Welcome to the forum
Port Douglas, up past Cairns, is lovely for a trip but I wouldn't recommend living there.
We're off to Sydney.
