Bumping the thread with another weather warning - to quote the Bureau,
....the monsoon trough will deepen late on Sunday as the monsoon flow to its north freshens. So further rain areas with moderate to heavy falls will continue about the east tropical coast and adjacent inland between Mackay and Cairns. Obviously, the heavy falls will be mostly confined to coastal areas where uplift provided by the ranges will enhance the rainfall.
Very heavy rainfall is expected over the weekend and into next week in the coastal strip between Cairns and Mackay, possibly in the region of 150mm+ in 24 hours - not on the level Mackay got last year (we hope) but still pretty heavy. Fast river rises and road closures due to flooding are expected.
