What the hell were you looking for to find that. It's brilliant!

'Six White Boomers'! I can still remember every word from when they used to play it on 'Junior Choice'

I was looking for the lyrics to the kookaburra song......for my daughter I hasten to add..........honest!!!

Its a site thats a teaching resource for teachers/kids in australia, dunno if the rest of it is any good - perhaps the teachers amongst us could give it a once over and give us their opinion?

What a great find! We often sing 'Tie me Kangaroo down', but our words are completely different.

I must print them out and learn a few of the songs in preparation

Laugh Kookaburra, laugh Kookaburra

Kookaburra sits on the old gum tree
Eating all the gumdrops he can see

Leave some gums for me

Counting all the monkeys he can see
Stop Kookaburra, stop Kookaburra

Went to see him in Perth a couple of months ago on his Dilligaf tour, felt very odd as prob 90% of the audience was male. He did one song for the sheilas about men being b*stds, no wonder me & DianeOz were hoarse the next day! Next date here is Dec 23rd at Burswood.

My personal favourite:

Dashing through the bush
In a rusty Holden ute
Kicking up the dust
Esky in the boot
Kelpie by my side
singing Christmas songs
It's summer time and I am in
My singlet shorts and thongs

Chorus

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells
Jingle all the way
Christmas in Australia
On a scorching summer's day
Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells
Christmas time is beaut
Oh what fun it is to ride
in a rusty Holden ute

Engine's getting hot
Dodge the kangaroos
Swaggie climbs aboard
he is welcome too
All the family's there
Sitting by the pool
Christmas Day, the Aussie way
By the barbecue

Chorus
