first 6wks on gold coast

hi everyone
been so long since we have been on here, but are back and available for any advice!!
we arrived in brisbane on 4th jan on a skilled independent visa, flew with singapore airlines who were excellent.
one word of warning though, the last couple of weeks in the uk were horrendous, lots of goodbyes and lots and lots of tears, but once you are on the plane its like a big relief
we booked a apartment in runaway bay for a month and hired a car.it has been so hectic but have managed to;
find a house to rent on pacific pines
bought 2 cars
2 girls started schools at pacific pines primary and high, are really happy!!
sorted tax file numbers
sorted bank accounts(we`re with westpac, seem very efficient)
hubby reluctantly found work
bought furniture and bbq most important
lots of surfing

we are still however waiting for our container to be cleared,it arrived on jan28th.there has been small prob with our xmas decos apparently,we have to have them destroyed or fumigated(found that quite funny).all i want is my washing machine!!!!
so life is pretty dam good at the moment ,only 1 critisism,it is dark at 7pm.it was well worth the whole 18mthvisa process,so hang on in there your time will come
good luck to you all

HI Guys,
We looked at the display village on Pacific Pines, we hoping to be out there later this year.
will keep an eye out for your posts, good to see how people are getting on ... plus I have a 10 year old daughter and 7 year old son so good to hear how kids cope. Thanks

Excellent, it sounds as though you've been extremely busy. How have you acclimatised to the weather ?

Hi There. Good to hear you are all organised. We arrived 3 weeks ago - so still a bit dazed. Staying with relatives at the moment - but quite desperate to get out asap - so was interested in where you rented in Runaway Bay and the costs?

Many Thanks.

Hi Keith and Sam,

Glad to hear you have arrived safely and are loving it. It is also great to hear that the kids are enjoying it too.

We will be there in 3 weeks and will hopefully get sorted as quickly as you have.

Take care
Marie
