Firebugs wreak havoc
Not even Spring here yet and some are missing a good bonfire so they have started a few.
ARSONISTS kept police and firefighters busy at the weekend with a series of unrelated deliberately lit fires. Two houses and a disused hotel were set on fire, two cars were burnt and a police station was damaged. In Wanneroo, a 22-year-old man has been charged with causing criminal damage by fire. He is alleged to have set alight his girlfriend's house early yesterday after a domestic dispute :D :cool: :beer: |
This type of idiots never ceases to amaze me.
However, it is not only Australia where it happens. We had a fire here last week in San Diego where arsonists set fire to a new apartment complex being built and did $20 million in damage. It was done by some Eco-warriors who are against the development of the area. |

The good news is, efforts to tackle the problem seem to be having an effect and the number of fires started deliberately - outside school hours - has been falling steadily. The latest statistics from the insurance industry's Arson Prevention Bureau, covering England and Wales, suggest that since 1994, the number of school arson fires has declined, from more than 1,100 to just under 800 - although it is thought many smaller fires go unreported. |
