Finding work on Sunshine Coast
Hi all,
Wandering if anyone can help me, do you know ;
1) how hard it is to find work on the Sunshine Coast?
2) What type of work is available?
3) Is it difficult to find work for 20 hrs per week?
What's the best area on Sunshine Coast for work?
Thanks, Lisa.

Check out this website for Sunny Coast Employment Agencies.

Personally I've had 3 jobs through IPA in the last alomost 6 years years. The first was a temporary job for a month, then 3 and a half years and I've been in this job for just over 2 years.

Ok, i've been offered a good position (in IT) on the Sunshine Coast, for 45k (+ super), but am holding out for at least the 52k we scrape by on in Brisbane.
The position requires more advanced skills than my current position so i think holding out is justified. The job would be better for me.
Any thoughts?

I don't think for one minute that it is like croc dundee (whatever that means), the reason i ask these questions is because there have been so many negative posts that i've read about work being so hard to come by, i just wanted other peoples opinions, some may have personal experiences that they might share, giving me more insight into something i've been dreaming of. Everyones different, i know that me and my hubby will try really hard, but if rumours are true and it is exceptionally hard to find work there then it's probably twice as hard to find just 20 hrs a week.

IT company, send me a PM and say who it is - don't worry, I'm not looking for a job as I know the only way to make decent money is to be self employed. I'll never work for an employer again (especially not for $40 - $50,000 a year)

Well try and be a tad more specific.
Asking a general question, will get a general answer.
What kind of work do you do?

Unemployment is very low on the coast, it's only lazy people that don't work (I wont mention Aussies - oops :-))

Tell him to Contact Jimboomba Turf, and ask if they have any vacancies. They are possibly biggest supplier of turf in qld.
I know of many poms, on site who work as labourers, especially doing ground work ( lawn laying etc )
The uk type of groundwork, ie digging with a spade or shovel, isnt that popular here.. hence Dingo and Bobcat
He could be earning 1k a week, as a offsider for a reasonably busy company.
Alternatively he could buy a Jim Franchise... and work his own hours.
