finding where places are?

Default finding where places are?

hi , wonder if anyone can help me is there a website that if you type in a name of a place it will tell you where it is and maybe more information about the area.there are so many different names of places which i can not seem to find on my maps of aus.

This is a pretty good sight.
Goes down to street level for most of OZ.
Small but useful.

http://www.multimap.com

In addition to that put any place name you are interested in into Google and usually something comes up.

Another one is www.whereis.com.au. If you use the directions bit you can find out how far a place is from the nearest city.

we got my brother to send a copy of a UBD over..kinda like an a to z....very helpful!!!

You can buy city maps from www.lonelyplanet.com. Not too details but only £3.99 each!

I've found this is a very useful site:

You enter two place names and it will show you the route
between them on a map and also the distance/time between
them, plus detailed directions on how you get from one
to the other.

This also might help as you can get information about
entered suburbs:

http://www.property.homeownerscard.c...roperty&type=1

Where are you heading, I have some web sites that will
give suburb information about Brisbane if you're interested.
