Default Finally got thr VISA after 21 Months 11 Days!

Hi everybody,
Finally our visa was granted, after a long long time.
Now I have a question: my passport will expire September 16 2008 and now I have Visa grant letter.
What should I do?
Should I renew my passport and inform DIAC?
Should I use current passport for Visa stamp and immediately request for a new passport (renew process)?
Please help me to know what to do.
Regards
Shahram

Well done!!!

Personally I would get a new visa before coming here, as it is quite pricey once here.

Before we got our visas, the DIMA caseworker advised us to get new passports (they had about a year left) before the visa was granted, which we did. If I were you, I'd email your caseworker and ask their advice.

I'm not sure whether you can get the visa put in a different passport to the one you specified in your application, although you would be able to get it put in your current passport and get it transferred to a new one once you get to Oz and you should be able to travel with a new passport without a visa stamp as long as you carry the old passport with you as well.
