Finally Booked Flights!
Well the flights are now booked one way to Brissie! I would have booked sooner but we were waiting to exchange on our house which apparently will happen tomorrow (fingers crossed). Anyway decided we couldn't wait any longer and took the plunge and booked the tickets today so God help us.
It took me at least two hours to find the best deal and to be perfectly honest they were all much the same however, Brunei Airlines have a 'great offer' on i.e. adult fare £330 (including taxes and child fares £260 - fairly amazing offer but I wasn't too sure if I wanted to travel with them because of all the bad press I've read on this forum. The only good press I've read is from people travelling either first class or business class. Anyway there's no going back as the flights are now booked and we will fly with Malaysia Airlines. Tickets for 2 adults and 2 children came to £1600 exactly. Not a bad days work really. I had noticed that prices seem to come down by at least £400 from 15th August so this may be worth bearing in mind for those of you about to book tickets. Good luck everyone! |
You didn't mention what date you are flying? Where are you staying when you get there?
I have been looking into flights today for around 30th July. There doesn't seem to be much availability to my surprise. Royal Brunei was the best price (£1,200 - 2 adults and 2 children) - it seems a very basic airline - but what a price difference. Malaysian was £1,900 but they have the better seat pitch and also ninetendos for the children. Waiting for house to exchange next week hopefully then we will be booking flights. House being packed up on 14th July by GB Liners. Its all go!!! Dawn |
Flown Malaysian to Brissie, back in Feb/March - excellent, couldn't fault them;really good crew, very attentive, and the food was actually tasty! (and yes, that was in Peasant Class).
Don't know if this will affect anyone's decision, but I'm told by them in the business that Royal Brunei are apparently an alcohol-free airline - I can assure you I don't intend to find out personally, cos I like a beer or ten on my flights |
Hi Dawn
I sent you a pm. Good to hear your positive views on Malaysia Airlines Pollyana - you're quite right, they don't serve alcohol on Royal Brunei airlines and this was not a selling point for us either. Apart from that I absolutely adore malaysian cuisine and of course they offer more leg room than most. |

I've got the shippers coming in on the 13th Aug to take it all away! It's all becoming more of a reality now.
We decided to get rid of most of our furniture and kids toys but despite this we still have a lot of the old clobber to take. Anyway thank you all you lovely people for all your kind wishes and best of luck. |
