Finally...

Finally...
We had a turbulent and stressful visa process.
In the process we held 3 visa's, applied for 2 others as well along the way and almost became illegal at one point.
We challenged immigration regarding RSMS requirements, sacked an incompetant agent, took English tests for more points aged 45 and 1 month just before application got looked at, applied for and got state sponsorship (off the nominated occupation lists).
Finally PR was submitted 6 hrs before the age deadline. We were approved, booked flights to the UK to return and activate only to be told numbers of visas were limited and they might run out for the year before our flights . So another lot of 5 flights booked for the following week!
Fast forward nearly 3 years and today, Australia day 2012, we finally made it....today we became citizens! They can't send us home now!

Re: Finally...
I have two homes, the home of my origins and my home here. Don't suppose that's ever going to change. Doesn't mean I am not really pleased to be here just that I haven't forgotten where I came from.
Also it's just a phrase without any deep and meaningful implications, probably influenced by what is oft said to immigrants about "going back home"
