But that's what Sven and David and Wayne said last night! Mind you, Sven was checking out the last of the female staff at FA Headquarters; Wayne was in a back street in Liverpool and David was explaining to Posh what a book was at the time.

Yeah, fully aware of 2 possibilities for the Ashes and 4 possibilities for the match!!

It should be very exciting and as I said may the best team win, the time for banter soon ends and the action starts.

A very important toss to win. I can only see one result now.

Jones will be a loss to us but I am sure we can get over the line now, our best opportunity in a long long time, living memory for me almost! :scared:

Not living memory for me - imagine what it was like during the Botham/Willis series for me! It looks like we'll have to win by an innings so Warnie bowls last on a crumbling pitch.

Honours shared on day one. Warne bowled well but may have hurt his fingers because he bowled too long. Can England get to 400?.

Flat track, sunny day, won toss, 4/274, honours even then; not by end of day! Listen to the Barmy Army and watch the Aussie fielders and bowlers to tell you; honours even - nah! What's the weather forecast today it is absolutely lashing down in Scotland?

I still reckon it's even stevens. Has Warne hurt his fingers?.

Forecast is 26c & partly cloudy. Rain tomorrow & Sunday.

I don't think it is going to affect his bowling - he always gets the same thing when he bowls over 30 overs in a day. Hopefully he'll soon be sitting in the pavilion resting his fingers for the second innnings. (Or as Geoffrey Boycott said about half a dozen times in commentary yesterday he was SAT in the pavilion, he won't score runs SAT in the pavilion, Paul Collingwood while he was SAT in the pavilion, blah, blah, blah)

Not a good forecast for Sat and Sun. Here's the Aussie slant on the day:

Jones out, difficult to see England posting a big total now. Open with Gillie and go for a lead by close of play today!

Has anyone mentioned how much happier and healthier the Aussie team looks? How they smile more and seem more well balanced people. Must be all that sun and beach lifestyle!
