Default Fee plan to cut car congestion

WA the lest populated state and they are worried about over use of the car , what happen to the loads of space country ?

DRIVERS will be charged a congestion fee to get cars off roads and reduce the state's reliance on oil, under a proposal put forward by a Government committee.

WA motorists could also pay more for using busy roads rather than taking public transport.

Under one proposed model, all cars would be fitted with global positioning systems and pay according to the distance travelled and destination.

A motorist in a country area not serviced by public transport, for example, would pay less than a city driver on a congested freeway where trains were available

Ah you mean like the one already in use in London where you have to pay 5 pound to drive in London. In WA they are just talking about it. When you get back you will have to PAY it.

You've previously complained LOUDLY about the backwardness of Perth, now your telling up all Perth cars are going to have fitted Global Positioning Systems fitted, (which not even Londoners have). So Perth is going to go state of the art ah, cannot be as backward as you make out.

Yes big red flags on top of their bonnets so 200 goverment workers like yourself can count the tolls?
The charges for the Flag will be on par with Rego.

You bright sod how did you get a public service job , its well known that to have the IQ of a plank is over qualified to work for the goverment.
The GPS in Australia is a big flag stuck on some ones head.

Planning and Infrastructure Minister Alannah MacTiernan, who has released the report for public discussion, said the community could not afford to dismiss new ideas outright and urged everyone to at least consider them.

The London model under investigation was revenue neutral and would mean motorists paying the same amount in road-user charges, she said.

In the UK the Government last week anounced a multi billion pound road expansion scheme. Why?
To get more cars on the roads of course.
This is to pave the way to introduce road tolls. Clever eh?
Read the article on www.icbirmingham.co.uk
It will cost around £10.20 per day to enter Birmingham city.
Keep dreaming PB.

Wait Awhile WA today the UK tomorrow Perth , the roads here are fewer and getting more choked because of rising numbers coming into WA.
Toll roads are to be found in Australia in the Eastern States , the car owner is a mug to be milked .
Read the news item Australia will have to import oil soon and that will demand less traffic burning up the roads in 3.5 , 4 , 5 and 6 litre cars.
Australia needs a vast road system and it has few to pay for it.

You should concern yourself more with the Uk roads than the Aussie roads.
After all you will be back in dream land soon. HeHeHe.

Last time I heard UK was a net oil imported as North Sea oil is running out. Same goes for North Sea gas, wouldn't like to be holding pounds in the next few years what with the cost of importing all this energy to cope with the British weather.

If you hadn't noticed the Aussie sems to be falling at the moment, hope you've converted you dollars already.

True only 20 years left but fuel cells will be common by then in Europe in cars , the rubber dollar was up against the pound today , sad twat.
Australia is a small market that will lag behind America and Europe .

This is the Australian and New Zealand Lifestyle forum. Correct.
But you should be on the Returning to the Uk dreamland forum. Shouldnt you?
