Farewell!!!!
 
Just wanted to say thanks to all who have answered my often silly questions, i am abandoning my wish to move to Auz as there is currently no way for me to get the points needd to be sucessful with an application. going to look into Newzealand as really great country and have relevant points, so it looks like my only hope is nz unless i get an offer of marriage from an auzzie or a rich man with skills shortage job or money to invest!!!!! ha ha!!!

No other way im afraid im a Probation Officer only wort 40 points best i accept defeat i think, cant afford to take pay cut involved in a total career change and re-train!!!

Well - if Australia *is* your long-term goal, then there's nothing to stop getting NZ citizenship and then moving because:

Since 1973, the Trans-Tasman Travel Arrangement has allowed Australian and New Zealand citizens to live and work in each other’s country without restrictions. On arrival in Australia, most New Zealanders are automatically granted a Special Category Visa. This visa allows the holder to remain and work in Australia indefinitely.
That said, I know next-to-nothing about NZ and don't want to belittle the place by suggesting you use it as a mere stepping-stone to Australia. :)

Best of luck to you wherever your dreams take you. I've got family in NZ and from what they tell me, you won't be disappointed. NZ was my second choice if I didn't make Oz. It too is an amazing country.

Sorry to hear you do not have enough points for the application to Australia, but if you fancy NZ and have enough points.....go for it!! Good luck

Thanks everyone.

Shame its not going to be Australia but i do believe everything happens for a reason! as suggested as well there is always the option to move to Australia if i feel NZ isnt for me after a few years

We were short on points at the time of our application - got our visa going STNI (State Territory Nominated Independant), it might be worth a try - have you spoken to an agent to see if they can suggest a way of getting your there?? Good Luck in whatever you decide!!
